Raven’s Warning is an educational program featuring a series of beautifully illustrated children’s books that are appropriate for children ages 5-9. This vibrant collection is designed to enhance fire safety awareness through the lens of Alaska Native culture, language and perspectives. Through traditional storytelling and culturally relevant characters and activities, children learn the importance of smoke alarms, maintaining safe distances from hot objects, having two exits from every room  and recognizing the difference between tools and toys.

Raven’s Warning also fosters community engagement by teaching families how to maintain functional smoke alarms, create evacuation plans and secure dangerous tools and materials away from children.

These books are printed in accessible dyslexia font and available in a variety of First Alaska languages in three regional sets: Western & Northern Alaska, Interior Alaska and Southeast Alaska.
